The project

In Swammerdamstraat, in the middle of Amsterdam, you will find this apartment of approximately 70m2. Once a student residence, now transformed into an open and luxurious apartment. This project is characterized by simplicity, functionality and some distinct material choices.

The design

A relatively small apartment requires well-thought-out design. Custom cabinets also serve as partitions between kitchen and bedroom. A home office is hidden behind doors of a wall-filling cabinet. The kitchen island merges into a dining table. Contrasting colors and materials, mark the contrast between different living areas. With subtle separations between living and sleeping areas, and clever use of functional elements such as storage solutions, every square meter is optimally utilized.

Materials and Sustainability

Original elements are combined with sleek materials. Stone veneer and aluminum give the apartment a modern look. The wooden beams, floor and restored fireplace allude to the property’s history.
