Space

With a depth of 36 feet and small windows on the front facade, the lack of natural light presented a challenge. Rearranging the space brought two adjacent warehouses together.

The design

The concept “The light is around the corner” revolves around the importance of light in design. By integrating smart volumes, finished in different colors, and sight lines, the natural light is maximized. Among other things, that the bathroom placed in the darkest part of the warehouse. Maintaining a light line from front to back ensures that daylight illuminates the space evenly, making the space feel brighter than it actually is. In addition, the lighting plan is important, with plenty of spotlights illuminating the space pleasantly. A subtle but important aspect of the design is fulfilling the client’s desire for black steel doors and a herringbone floor to keep the house courteous. These elements were carefully integrated into the design. The floor, curved to a Hungarian point, with a gradual transition in gradient from dark to light.

Materials & Sustainability

This project reused as many materials as possible, including the kitchen that received a renovation with new fronts and an extended kitchen island with stone veneer. The oak floor with subtle color gradient, custom EGE rug and wallpaper form with the same gradient.
